All Referees and Referee Candidates: You must register as a volunteer at www.eayso.org. Youth volunteers must register as well. This is an annual requirement. You must be a registered volunteer to get credit for taking training and certification class.
REFEREE TRAINING CLASS: Sunday, September 19, Leonia Borough Hall Annex, Beechwood Place and Broad Avenue (entrance at ground level through the Sculpture Garden)
U-8 Official, 9 am to 1pm
Basic Referee, 9 am to 5 pm
This is your last chance to take the training class in Leonia this season. We are getting one of the best instructors in the area to teach the class. You must be a registered volunteer to get credit for your training. If we do not have 10 attendees per class the class will be cancelled. Contact Masako to RSVP.
If you cannot make it to the Leonia class, and you are able to travel to Manhattan, they are offering the same class, but split on two different days.
Referee Training Classes in Manhattan by Region 611 (Manhattan West Side)
U-8 Official w/Safe Haven - Saturday, September 11 from 9am-noon
Basic Referee (U-8 a prequisite) - Saturday, September 11 from 1pm-5:30pm
U-8 Official w/Safe Haven - Tuesday evening, September 21 from 6:30pm-9:30pm
Basic Referee (U-8 a prequisite) - Wednesday evening, September 22 from 6pm-10:30pm
Courses have been registered on eAYSO. Region 611 has a rigid policy about RSVPing in advance, which maximizes the chances that volunteers create eAYSO records and that they have enough copies of the exams to go around. Space should not be a problem. They will provide every attendee from a region outside of region 611 with a law book and, after they pass the exam, a badge.
The RSVP deadline for the September 11 classes is September 7.
The RSVP deadline for the September 21 and 22 classes is September 18.
